I want my work to help people. Sometimes it's advising a founder just getting started. Sometimes it's helping folks navigate a career transition. Sometimes it's just being a sounding board. Before this, I co-founded RevUnit where we built technology for startups and Fortune 500 brands. We grew to over 100 people, were named to the Inc. 5000 list four years in a row, and received strategic investment from private equity. These days, my focus is on relationships and impact. In addition to the business stuff, I have a wife and two kids who I love spending time with. And my faith in Jesus Christ drives me to hopefully look more like Him everyday while loving the people that He puts in my path.
community
Community is an important part of my life: whether my family, the startup ecosystem in Northwest Arkansas, or at my church. I have always made time and space for these communities and will continue to as I move into my next chapter.
RevUnit
What started as an idea to build a product development shop that worked in small teams to solve big problems became something my co-founder, Joe, and I would have never guessed. Over the course of 7 years, we went from the cliche of late nights scraping by to building enterprise software for Virgin, Walmart, Zappos, Unigroup and the like. Our 120-person team was based in Bentonville, Austin, and Las Vegas, with remote employees across the country. We earned our place on the Inc. 5000 list, won multiple Arkansas Business Best Places to Work awards and placed on Entrepreneur 360’s list of America’s most innovative businesses. I even got a tattoo of a rocket on our fifth anniversary after doubling our revenue year after year. Our success led to more opportunities, and we took on strategic investment from a private equity firm in 2019. Their team recognized the value of our business and the unique work culture we had been able to create.I am incredibly proud of what we created: a unique workplace that supported many talented people for many years, the kind of success few people see in their lives, and hey – versions of our software continue to improve work-life for millions.Having experienced the gamut of entrepreneurship, I am moving on to my next chapter in life – and sharing what I can with those who may need some advice in the ups and downs of running a high-growth venture.
